SERVICES

1. We provide home-stay and counseling services for unwed mothers during the terms of pregnancy including confinement.
2. Arrangement for legal adoption of babies.
3. Listing of prospective parents for baby adoption.


 

POLICY OF ADMISSION

  1. The HOME provides shelter and refuge for unmarried girls who:
    • Through ignorance, got pregnant and where subsequently, are abandoned by their boyfriends.
    • Intend to keep their babies but have no place to turn to for support.
    • Are students who intend to continue with their studies after their pregnancies.

 

  1. The HOME provides support and guidance for mothers and babies through provision for:
    • Legal adoption of the babies.
    • Counselling and moral education.
    • Dharma education.
    • Health education.
    • Child care education.

 

  1. Duration of Stay
    • The girls are admitted at any stage of their pregnancies.
    • The girls are expected to return to their homes after delivery, but may stay on for the confinement period subject to COM approval.

 

  1. Board and Lodging
    • The HOME is a charitable and non-profit making organization. Board and lodging are provided and funding is dependent on public donations.

 

  1. Adoption of Babies
    • If any of the girls decides not to keep her baby, the HOME will recommend and make the necessary arrangements to have the babies legally adopted. However the girls or their families are encouraged to keep their babies provided they have the means.
  1. Consent
    • All girls above the age of 18 years shall sign their consent to voluntary admission to the HOME. Girls below 18 years shall have their parents’/guardians’ consent. The HOME does not take in those who are mentally unsound or who are drug addicts.
